FAQs
1. What happens in therapy?
Therapy is like having a private, judgment-free space to talk about what's on your mind. You can share your thoughts, feelings, and struggles with your therapist, who will listen and help you figure things out. Sometimes you'll talk, and other times you might do activities to help you understand yourself better.
2. Do I have to talk about everything right away?
Nope! You don't have to spill everything at once. You can take your time and only share what you're comfortable with. Your therapist is there to support you, not pressure you. As you feel more comfortable, you can open up more.
3. Will my therapist tell my parents what I say?
In most cases, what you talk about in therapy stays between you and your therapist. There are a few exceptions, like if you're in danger or someone else is at risk, but your therapist will explain these to you at the start. They want to keep your trust and make sure you're safe!
